With Spring now underway, it's time we start welcoming the outdoor in with florals, pastels and long overdue catch ups.Easteris the perfect opportunity to lay the table and host for Easter Sunday dinner or an Easter brunch. We've pulled together a short guide on how to be the hostest with the mostest this season.
1. Set the foundations
All the best brunches and dinners have a theme. As the days get longer and the skies lighter, we're picking pastels and gingham as our theme of choice. Depending on your guests, you could also choose funEaster charactersor sweetditsy florals.
This range of gingham tableware fits perfectly within this occasion. Using the napkins as part of our table setting and plates for displaying food on the table.
2. Gather supplies
There's a lot to think about when pulling together a tablescape so we find it easiest to have everything we need in front of us so we know what we have to work with. For this table, we're using afloral garlandas our runner to bring some more floral touches to the room. Don't forget staple pieces like a table cloth, vases, faux or real flowers, crockery and glasses. Decorations are also key here, especially if you're incorporatingcandles, placeholdersand any fun elements to bring Easter to your room.
3. Showstopping centrepieces
Now is the time you can get creative! Our favourite staple centrepiece isfaux florals, complimented with fundecorative piecesthat pull the theme together. Why not add in theseegg stemsinto your bouquet to bring an easter feel. Pair big statement bouquets with smallerbud vaseson the table or nestled into a floral table runner. Some wildflowers from the garden are perfect for this. Add somepastel candlestickswith matchingcandlesinto the setting to bring ambience to your meal.
4. Lay the table
Next is the easy bit! Pop your plates around the table, add cutlery and complete with napkins. We like to usepaper napkins, as they're much easier to clear away after the meal, plus printed napkins can tie into your theme easily. If you decide cloth napkins are more your style, use somenapkin ringsfor each place at the table to keep them together. Finish off each setting with someplacecards, again these are great to tie into your theme and so each guests know where to sit.
5. Finishing touches
The small details that make the tablescape are still important. Why not add someconfettito the table to complete your theme? If you're brunching, you can build agrazing boardor assemble your favourite treats on atreat stand.Cake toppersare a great way to add a touch of Easter to your food.
Don't forget your room decorations too, you could always hang your centrepiece above the table instead using ourtable clamp, perfect for draping agarland. Add anEaster treeto your room to add a fun element to your meal. They make for a great talking point during your courses or a fun way to get the kids involved.
Finally, add some Easter chocolate to your table or each place setting to give your guests their Easter treat!
